2010 STACK Summer Institute
Comprehensive training for professionals
who work with students with autism
June 28–July 2 or July 12–16, 2010
The ESCCO, in collaboration with its partners at the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI) have developed a comprehensive, interactive training designed to give professionals hands-on instruction to enhance their ability to plan for and serve students with autism spectrum disorders.
The workshop is a comprehensive five-day training designed to give participants the opportunity to receive training and practice on the use of assessment tools such as UCC (Underlying Characteristics Checklist) and ISSI (Individual Strengths and Skills Inventory). Participants will be able to observe STACK classrooms as well as interact with STACK students and prepare materials for student use. A parent panel, collaborative use of OCALI’s Autism Internet Modules and follow up webinars and wiki with resources will also be available.
Participants will come away from this training with a philosophy for teaching students with autism and related disorders and a plan to create a comprehensive program for the students they serve.
The Institute will take place at Norton Middle School, 215 Norton Road, Columbus, Ohio.
Tuition is $850 and applications are due by Friday, May 28.
The first 25 applicants for each week will be accepted.
