Educational Partnership for Academic Student Success of Students in Foster Care (EdPASS)

EdPASS is a partnership program of Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) and the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio.

Education Specialists employed by the ESC meet weekly with individual students in foster care to set goals for attendance, academic performance and personal development. Specialists provide and coordinate academic support to enable students to achieve their goals.

Working closely with the students’ caregivers, FCCS service teams and school staff, Education Specialists provide encouragement, support for participating in extracurricular activities and linkages to available school or community services.

EdPASS services are provided at no cost to either foster families or school districts.

By partnering with Franklin County Children Services, EdPASS will serve nearly 1,000 youth in agency care this year.
