English Learners Summer Institute | June 2 

Is language proficiency the silent prerequisite for our CTE programs, and how do we change that? Join us to transform this barrier by learning how to unlock high-demand career pathways for every English Learner. Hear from Multilingual Learner Coach, Meghan Gregoire Smith from SupportED on some crucial topics for supporting ELs in CTE programs.

The following topics will be discussed:

• Define the urgency around creating equitable pathways for EL enrollment in CTE programs and supporting ELs currently enrolled in CTE programs
• Discuss strategies for recruiting and retaining ELs in CTE programs
• Explore five instructional strategy recommendations to advance Els' equitable participation in CTE programs
• Plan for effective CTE programming and instruction for ELs

Gifted Summer Institute | June 11

Differentiating Up: Practical Models to Guide Advanced Thinking How do you infuse advanced thinking and questioning into your lessons and activities? What models exist to support lesson design, questioning, and activity-creation in ways that support talent development?

In this practical session, learn and apply classroom-tested models and frameworks that promote advanced thinking and learning across the content areas. An emphasis will be placed literary analysis with interdisciplinary connections to STEM and social studies. Lunch will be provided.

New Teacher Network | July 30-31

The New Teacher Network will provide new teachers with the necessary tools to start their educational journey on the right foot. A strong start can make the difference between turnover and retention, and between making the grade and great outcomes. Join us for a two-day interactive workshop. On day one, we will tackle the classroom and community with such topics as classroom and time management, engagement and motivation, and differentiation. On the second day, we will focus on communication and care, where we will discuss communicating with stakeholders, engaging in self-care, and reflecting on practice.

ParaPro Assessment Training Morning Sessions | June 5, July 8 & 22, August 12

This testing is for prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. The test will be taken on a computer. Testing time is 2 1/2 hours. The test consists of 90 multiple choice questions in reading, mathematics and writing. The cost is a non-refundable fee of $75. This must be paid before testing. Note: if you have two years of college you do not need to take the exam.

Beyond Rewards and Consequences - Understanding the Drivers of Student Action | June 2 

This training provides educators with essential knowledge and practical strategies to more effectively support student behavior. Participants will learn to distinguish between aversive and appetitive methods of behavior control and explore how each approach impacts student engagement and performance. The session also delves into the role of the nervous system in driving behavior, highlighting the importance of responding with empathy, compassion, and an understanding of how students actually function. Educators will leave better equipped to create learning environments that are both effective and human-centered.

BCBA Support in a PBIS Lens | June 11

This training is designed to equip BCBAs in a school based setting with logistical strategies to provide efficient behavior support within an MTSS framework. Participants will leave with an understanding of MTSS and PBIS. Additionally, participants will work on developing their own framework for providing tiered support within their environment.

BA/BIP in Schools - What Do You Need to Know | June 16

Writing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans in school settings can be both essential and complex. Unlike clinical environments, schools operate within academic schedules, multidisciplinary teams, competing priorities, and compliance requirements. These contextual variables often make conducting thorough FBAs challenging while maintaining timely support for students. This session will address these factors in school and provide recommendations for accuracy and efficiency.

Introduction to Restorative Practices | June 10

The Restorative Practices session will provide the participants with practical approaches designed to increase adult/student relationships, connection, safety, and opportunities for success and learning. This framework and active practice will include an overview of Restorative Practices and alignment to school/classroom universal expectations using intentional and explicit practice. Additional areas to be covered will include:

•The Restorative Practices Continuum
•The Social Discipline Window,
•Introduction to Restorative Circles

The organizational shift from the "To” and "For” to the "With.” Teams are encouraged to attend the all-day session as an introduction to the framework. Opportunities for more targeted coaching and support will be offered as follow-up and collaboration with the ESC- Specialized -on-Site Support Team (SOS Team).

Screening of the Documentary Multiple Choice | June 15 (RSVP by June 12)

To provide educational leaders an opportunity to watch, discuss, and decide if the documentary would be appropriate for a learning opportunity for school leadership, staff, or community. Multiple Choice immerses viewers in the Innovation Center, where students explore diverse careers and master traditional and new-economy skills. Amid political turmoil and tech upheaval, Multiple Choice offers an inspiring vision of kids finding purposeful paths within a community pursuing the goal of prosperity for all.
