Student intern at the workplace

The ESC is offering upcoming opportunities for parents and their children to learn about careers after high school and the educational options needed to make them happen.

On April 20 and April 28, the ESC and At the Core are hosting free virtual coffee chats for parents to explore educational options for their children as they relate to future career aspirations. On April 20th from 6:30-7:30pm, the "Educational Options Our Kids Can Leverage" session will introduce the idea that the high school years can include exploration into each student's individual interests (For families with 6th-10th graders). On April 28th from 6:30-7:30pm, the "Preparing Kids for the Working World" session will focus on life after formal schooling is over. We will discuss the skills (hard and soft) that employers look for (For families with 7th graders and up).

And then on May 3 and May 5 during In-Demand Jobs Week (May 3-7), the ESC and Columbus State Community College are hosting free virtual events to highlight pathways and career opportunities in the IT, modern manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality sectors.
