Join the ESC of Central Ohio and Amplify Education, as we take a deep dive into the science of reading research from leaders and practitioners whose focus is equity for all students, wherever they are learning. After a brief discussion on what the research tells us, with Susan Lambert, host of "Science of Reading: The Podcast", Susan will host a panel discussion with Natalie Wexler, author of "The Knowledge Gap: The Hidden Cause of America's Broken Education System-And How to Fix It" (Avery 2019) and Ernesto Ortiz, a K-5 educator and administrator of 19 years. Our expert panel will dive deeper into the important topics of the deliberate teaching of foundational skills and building knowledge. Margaret Goldberg, co-founder of the Right to Read Project, will close the event with a discussion on her personal journey in the pursuit of equity through literacy. This session is appropriate for all PreK-12 educators, instructional coaches, building administrators, and district leaders. COST: FREE!
