Become an advocate for social change in the 2020-2021 school year and beyond with the Equity & Empathy Workshop! You will walk away from this two part series empowered to do your part in eliminating disparate outcomes for students, families, and the communities where they live and work. Together we will briefly historicize the impact of racism on education by making connections between historic and current global events. We will unpack and examine our own biases and share practical strategies and resources for effective, sustainable, equitable and critical pandemic pedagogy through a lens of empathy and social justice. Participants will be mailed an "Equity & Empathy Professional Development Workshop Kit," which will include an Empathy is My Superpower Journal, an Empathy Advocate Bumper sticker, and additional supplies for interactive activities. Each live session will be held via Zoom. A link will be sent to registered participants the morning of the first session. Registration closes July 13 or when the session is full.
