Explicit vocabulary instruction is a proven strategy to help English Learners close the vocabulary gap and increase their reading and listening comprehension. A systematic approach to vocabulary instruction by both English Language teachers and content-area teachers will ensure that English learners will be able to more quickly access the curriculum. Join this session to learn ways to make vocabulary instruction effective and fun. Intended audience includes EL teachers and general education teachers. For members of the ESC's Title lll EL Consortium, use "ESC-EL” in the payment box. Districts in the ESC membership pay $20. Districts outside the ESC membership pay $30.
