Business as usual no longer exist for schools. This workshop will prepare counselors to support students, teachers, and parents by beginning the school year with a toolkit of strategies and plans to maximize their student influence through support. The opportunity to provide character building, positive relationships, and understanding the best way to create an ethic of care within classrooms will be explored. While also promoting a healthy school culture to make students feel safe and reduce parental anxiety. A review of the value of documenting student needs, supports, and interventions appropriately will work to serve as a running record not only for student files but the level of support being provided by counselors. Ultimately, empowering counselors to cultivate systems of support throughout their school community.
