Description:

These one-hour virtual sessions take a deep dive into a specific topic. Each session will include an introduction to the topic, some connected readings, time for conversation and questions. Participants will leave with some new thinking and some resources to expand their thinking following the session. Note: Sessions are provided at no cost for member districts. The opportunity for continued individual conversation/coaching is available for a fee.

Choosing Books for Instruction. Choosing books for read alouds, minilessons and small group instruction takes time for reading and keeping up with books. This session will examine some possibilities for books and how they might be used in the classroom. We'll also take a look at ways to slow down and examine a book for all that is possible. By creating a stack of anchor books that you can go back to again and again is also a helpful teaching tool.
