This interactive one-day workshop is offered in an online format with presentations, breakout rooms and independent work time. The workshop equips content and general education teachers with research-based instructional techniques that address the needs of English Language Learners (ELLs or ELs) and other diverse populations in content or general education classes. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of working effectively with English learners by developing a differentiated lesson or unit plan. This session provides the opportunity to learn ways to plan and deliver lessons that allow English learners to access content standards as they develop their English proficiency. The target audience includes K-12 educators in any content area, EL teachers, administrators, coordinators and coaches. Participants will leave with a completed lesson or unit plan, resources and ideas to implement in the new school year. 5 contact hours will be provided.
