Educational Partnership for Social Emotional & Academics EPSEA
EPSEA is a partnership between Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) and the ESC of Central Ohio.
Our Mission: Empower students to find success.
Our Vision: To build resilient students in our schools and community.
EPSEA serves more than 350 students each year, providing direct, individualized support to youth involved with Franklin County Children Services. Hundreds more benefit from EPSEA’s consultation services and educational stability supports as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act.
EPSEA’s Educational Liaisons work to improve academic, behavior, and attendance outcomes for students using social-emotional learning development strategies and leveraging strong collaboration efforts among families, FCCS, and school districts. EPSEA’s Educational Coordinators partner with FCCS service teams and school districts to ensure educational stability through the Every Student Succeeds Act and they also offer consultation services to support all aspects of a child's educational success.
Since it's founding in 2018, EPSEA’s efforts have helped more than 2,000 foster youth make academic gains, improve matriculation, and increase graduation rates—far out performing the national data averages for youth in foster care. Learn more about the program here.
