The ESC of Central Ohio is dedicated to delivering exceptional STEM and Science curricular and instructional support to our member districts and schools. Our Science/STEM Specialist offers professional development, coaching, and resources to promote the integration of innovative strategies and best practices based on the most current research and technology.
Below are the teacher workshops currently being offered during the 2025-2026 school year! Some courses offered may be taken and paid for through the Teach CS Grant Program. For more information, see here.
February 4-5 | 9am-4pm at the ESC of Central Ohio Northgate Office, February 10-12 (virtual)
The ESC of Central Ohio, powered by LEGO® Education, is providing professional learning for educators of grades 6-12 in computer science (CS) to support the expansion of CS programs in PreK-12 schools that are aligned with Ohio state standards. Teachers will receive a free, a LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime set, and a SPIKE Prime Expansion set. This course is provided at no cost to any currently licensed teacher in Ohio!
February 17&18 | 9am-4pm at the ESC of Central Ohio Northgate Office, February 24-26 (virtual)

March 12 | 8am-3pm at ESC of Central Ohio Northgate Office
Participants will use block and text-based code to control the Hummingbird's motors, lights, and other sensors, in a way that interacts with the user's environment. After the training, participants will plan and implement a lesson in their own contexts.
June 16-17 | 9am-3pm at ESC of Central Ohio Northgate Office
Participants will work through the design process to create physical products from cardboard. Ozobots, Makey Makey, and Hummingbird kits will then be used to incorporate codable functionality into these cardboard creations.
