Resident Educator (RE) Program Support

Resident Educator Mentor Academy Training is a face-to-face event. New mentors to the Resident Educator Program are required to successfully complete the 12-hour Mentor Academy Training to receive state mentor certification. The two-day Academy focuses on the role of the mentor and the critical components of instructional mentoring. Mentors are introduced to the essential content of mentoring to prepare them to support the instructional growth and development of Resident Educators. Attendance on both days is required. Trainings will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Resident Educator Mentor Academy Training is a hybrid event. New mentors to the Resident Educator Program are required to successfully complete the 12-hour Mentor Academy Training to receive state mentor certification. The Academy focuses on the role of the mentor and the critical components of instructional mentoring. Mentors are introduced to the essential content of mentoring to prepare them to support the instructional growth and development of Resident Educators. This is a hybrid training requiring participants to access both the ODEW Learning Management System and the Virtual meetings held by the ESC. Contact the ESC for information on how to access the virtual content. Please be sure that your email address in the OH/ID Portal and STARS is updated.

The Resident Educator Mentor REcharge is a face-to-face, one-day event for previously trained Resident Educator Program mentors who are looking to refresh, renew, and recharge their mentoring practice. The six-hour training helps experienced mentors reconnect with the essential tools and practices introduced in the original Mentor Academy while deepening their skills through reflection and application. Participants explore updated mentoring strategies, revisit foundational tools, and engage in scenario-based learning to address real-world mentoring challenges. The training also emphasizes professional goal setting, networking, and resource-sharing to reenergize mentors for their vital role in supporting Resident Educators. Mentors attending REcharge receive a certificate of attendance; however, REcharge does not certify them as trained mentors. Mentors who have not been previously certified by attending the Mentor Academy should not be attending REcharge.

Resident Educator Mentor REcharge (In-Person)

Registration must be completed through STARS by logging into your OH ID portal. 

1. When you get to the page titled "My Apps", scroll down to the "Training and Registration App". 
2. Click "Open App". You will arrive at the STARS dashboard. 
3. Click on "Event Search". 
4. Use the keyword "RE" to search for the Resident Educator Mentor Academy Trainings. Make sure the dates align within the correct event dates and the event owner is "ESC of Central Ohio".
5. Make sure your email is correct to receive follow-up tests and evaluations.
