LETRS provides teachers with the knowledge they need to master the fundamentals of literacy instruction. Educators will acquire fundamental skills in the areas of phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing and language. The expertise you will acquire by taking this course will be appreciated by your current and future students and colleagues. You will walk away from this training understanding the why and how of providing literacy instruction. The course facilitator will focus strongly on a theory to practice framework.
NOTE: This course will follow a hybrid model. Participants will have the flexibility to complete the course material on their own schedule with a suggested sequence and biweekly zoom meeting invitations to meet and discuss with other participants and the facilitator. Participants will attend a face-to-face session at the end of each unit to participate in hands-on activities and thought partner discussions.
