Join us at the PAST Foundation on November 2 from 3:30- 6:00 to explore free resources available to help Central Ohio teachers bring STEM thinking into their classrooms. The PAST Foundation and the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) have partnered to showcase their mobile STEM kits and equipment. Both sets of kits are designed to provide unique educational opportunities by providing teachers and students with resources that schools may not be able to purchase on their own.
Powered by PAST and in partnership with Battelle our Portable Innovation Labs contain equipment and hands-on culturally relevant curricula. They were designed to be taught with a transdisciplinary mindset, making it easier to cover multiple learning standards in more than one subject. The Portable Innovation Labs connect to career pathways ranging from Robotics to Forensics.
The ESC of Central Ohio's Project Innovation is a STEM based outreach program that includes a set of mobile equipment available for check out. This equipment ranges from 3D printers and laser cutters to small cardboard creation systems. Project Innovation does not have premade curriculum but will work with teachers and schools to create authentic, hands-on, design-based lessons and units that fit the unique needs and standards of each classroom. The night will include a brief introduction to each program, time to explore the kits and equipment, ideate possible uses with other participants, and identify possible connections between the two programs.
