ESC Welcomes Superintendent-in-Residence

This summer, the ESC welcomed Dr. John Kellogg (pictured), former superintendent of Westerville City Schools, as its superintendent-in-residence. In this position Dr. Kellogg will focus on development of the ESC’s leadership services and supports for educators at all levels including district office administrators, principals, assistant principals, classroom teachers, and more. He also will work with regional partners to address and focus on current educator staffing shortages and future needs.

In addition to this work, Dr. Kellogg will be serving the Columbus State Community College (CSCC), a partner of the ESC on many projects including the Central Ohio Compact. In his role at CSCC, he will focus on regional collaboration for students to succeed in various careers.

Dr. Kellogg served as superintendent of Westerville City Schools from 2013 to 2023 and prior to that was assistant superintendent of curriculum for the South-Western City Schools. He also has served as a high school principal, assistant principal, and high school science teacher. Dr. Kellogg earned an Ed.S. in Educational Administration from George Washington University and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Ohio University. He also holds a Master of Education degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

Dr. Kellogg serves on the board of the Alpha Group of Delaware, Ohio, is a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Westerville, and is on the board of Junior Achievement of Central Ohio. He is married to wife, Kim, has two adult-aged children, Erin and Ian, and is an avid runner.
