The ESC of Central Ohio’s Career Development & Advancement Program (C-DAP) aims to establish employee licensure for non-degreed teacher assistants and paraprofessionals, provide licensed teachers with an opportunity to add an Intervention Specialist license, and allow current Intervention Specialists to add endorsements to their license through partner universities. Each school year, our agency employs over 200 intervention specialists and teacher assistants/paraprofessionals to support special education programming in grades Pre-K through 12. Our goal is to create pathways, remove barriers, and offer opportunities for these staff to attain degrees and licensure in special education, thereby advancing their professional development and career trajectory.
